Sauces and rubs have the ability to turn your grilling experience from good to great very easily. Below is a highlight of two of the best brands and their products which are to die for.
Dizzy Pig prides themselves on crafting, blending testing new combinations all the time. They have over 25 different spice rubs and seasoning blends. Two of the blends that should be highlighted are the Dizzy Pig Cow Lick Spicy Beef Rub and the Dizzy Pig Raising the Steaks Canadian-Style BBQ Rub.
Starting with the Cow Lick Spicy Beef Rub this rub is great on steaks, burgers, and brisket because of its peppery and earthy flavor. It has a medium heat but what it does not have is wheat, MSG, peanuts, tree nuts, and sugar. The ingredients in this rub are as simple as pepper, spices, salt, paprika, garlic, and onion.
The second Dizzy Pig rub, Raising the Steaks Canadian-Style BBQ Rub, is fantastic on steak, brisket, prime rib, chicken, fish, and vegetables. The slight hint of spice in this rub comes from the ingredients which are salt, paper, spices, garlic, paprika, and crushed red pepper. This rub does not contain any wheat, MSG, peanuts, or tree nuts.
The next brand that is a must-try is Lillie's Q. Lillie’s Q specializes in southern BBQ style and they are able to demonstrate them through their restaurants and products which include rubs, sauces and more. Their first restaurant opened in Chicago and the second in Destin, Florida.
First up is their amazing barbecue sauces. The two that are very popular are Lillie's Q Carolina Barbeque Sauce and Lillie’s Q Smoky Barbeque Sauce. The Carolina Barbeque Sauce is exceptional on pulled pork, brisket and smoked chicken. According to Lillie’s Q this sauce is equally balanced and tangy with hints of apple. The Smoky Barbeque Sauce is Memphis-style which is sweet and mild with a dash of smoke. Both of these sauces are all-natural and gluten-free while containing no preservatives, artificial colors, flavors, or high fructose corn syrup.
Lillie's Q Carolina Dirt BBQ Rub is ideal for slow-cooked ribs and pulled pork but can also be fantastic on fries, chicken, and turkey. It is a sugar-based rub made with paprika, spices, brown sugar, salt, onion, and garlic. Lillie's Q Q-Rub is a salt-based rub which highlights black pepper and garlic. This rub is great to use on beef, pork, chicken and turkey. The directions for both of these rubs call for using them generously about 15 minutes before cooking.
